Thanks to all those who joined us for Closed House Weekend on 8/9 Aug.

Below are some video clips of the talks we heard over the weekend.

Art and cultural centre no.w.here in Bethnal Green Road

Seven towers proposed for Bishopsgate Goodsyard between Shoreditch and Brick Lane

The Holland Estate in Spitalfields facing demolition

Campaign to keep the London Chest Hospital in community use

The Barge travellers community is under attack

Closed House Weekend: walking tour 8th August to hear about the hospital’s bank balance that makes Greek debt seem like an overdraft, the community art space being bought out and forced out by the art-ificial elite, the seven tower blocks parachuting in after a nod and a wink from Boris, and the estate given promises to refurbish, who’ve now heard they’ll demolish.

Details of the full tour can be seen here.

And on Sunday, August 9th, we’ll be holding a public assembly to reflect, strategise and establish new communities to better resist the privatisation and social cleansing of the area.

Mission Statement

– Build links between different groups fighting these developments, with a view to creating an enduring and united front
